If that was real, I would high five anyone who has the balls to jump that.

very cool watterfall. about the size I think it's very close to what the PSP uses (and perhaps other hand held consoles)

Render time was about 19min on 8-core MacPro. Not so long i guess, but i have no time right now to render it on higher resolution. Maybe next time))

I believe :D 19 minutes not so long, great deal with your 8-core, but not for old computer like me just 2-core :D. will wait for next :D.

Well after all this is not just a sphere on a plane) Vue is quite slow soft. It's very complicated to render complex scenes with billions polygons and plant instances on 2-core((
This 8-core machine on work. At home I have 4-core Quad9300 and it's just 2 time slower then Mac.

yeah you right. render for complex scene seem will be hard. and play with high set of Ambient occlusion. is will make my computer cry so hard.

I love the material on the terrain...is some of it matte-painted in? I can never get such good cliff-face rock textures directly in Vue, as I'm doing a similar scene myself at the moment =p

No, its a pure render except rainbow down a waterfall
Here is this rock-shader rendered just on sphere [link]

Yea, it will be much better with displacement, but render time was high, so I turn it off. Besides a Procedural terrain itself create procedural displace just what I need.

Well there is hiRes texture of cliff (about 7k pixels i guess - i discovered it on cgtextures.com)
Then I make this texture tiled in photoshop. Then i create 2 other procedural shaders of rocks and mixed them with this one. Plus I create different masks of highlights, bump and blend masks. And at the end -> simple procedural shader of grass - mixed by altitude+noise(scaled by Z) nodes in blend mask. Just shader on shpere was rendered about 40sec on MacPro. Pretty fast I think))

Looks very promising. You should really render it bigger IMO. Please? ;) :)
